John Knox Concert. The choir gave the first concert of the season at 'The John Knox' Church, Stewarton which was well attended by a very appreciative audience and which the choir enjoyed immensely. The choir send their thanks to the Bonnet Guild for their hospitality. Choir 2007/2008 SeasonWe were delighted to present Gordon with a certificate to mark his 20 years as ‘Musical Director’ with the choir and, if it hadn’t been for Cathy’s hospitalisation she would have been presented with a certificate to mark her 30 years as the choir’s accompanist, we have that pleasure to look forward to when she recovers. The choir thank you both for all the hard work and enthusiasm you have put in over these years of service. On the 16th December 2007 we took part in the traditional ‘Christmas Carol Extravaganza’ in St. Ninians Church to support the work of Christian Aid. Yet again it was a Full House with no room at the Inn, we all had a marvellous evening with the different organisations in Stonehouse taking part and being kept well under control, most of the time, by our own master of ceremonies Mr Fred McDermid. It was such a joy to see the young people so enthusiastically entering into the spirit of the evening and obviously enjoying it. We have had a busy start to 2008 with 3 concerts in February and our own annual concert in March (see 'Events') plus the Lanarkshire Festival of Male Voice Choirs. If you are a male, and even slightly interested in singing, come along and spend an evening with us to see for yourself if you would like to join the choir, we have a lot of fun as well as the hard work preparing for concerts. Choir practices take place in the hall of the Paterson UF. Church, Stonehouse, on Tuesday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
